Bought this watch some weeks ago at a ridiculous low price. Diameter 35mm without the crown.

Dial
cal 885
back
crown

I was told that a former importer of JLC and Favre Leuba in India was allowed to assemble such marriages in the Fifties. Could that be true? Does anybody know more?

Thanks for any information!

Let me guess - its from India via Ebay? There seem to be hundreds of these things coming from over there. All fakes I should think.

IMHO the only one "relationship" with FL and JLC is in early 70's when both used the GP 352 Q caliber.

FL used JLC cal 916 in the memoraider, when both JLC and FL were under same ownership.

And "Jaeger France" used FL twin barrel movement in some of their production too.

So, there has been a few examples of genuine collaboration between the 2 brands which were brothers at that time.

But the above pictured watch is clearly an indian parts-put-together watch, nothing remotely close to the 'real' FL-JLC watches

There were collaborations between FL/JLC on many models that I've seen. I coincidentally have one on my desk right now: a cal 426 backwind with an original dial that is dual-signed by BOTH JLC (at the top) and Favre-Leuba (at the bottom).
