I have one of these which left to me. It was my mother's 1st cousin, John (johnny) Alexander Kent's watch. It still keeps excellent even though it has not been used since his death in 1985.

Here is a link to info:

I though it might be of interest as this is the actual watch issued to him, in fact the only watch he wore.

Hi Gerard,
thanks for sharing the watch - history.
Do you have a pic of the case back ?
(I accept bets, it's an Air Ministry / 42)

All that times we think, while looking to a vintage military watch, "if it just could speak",
well, that one actually do it ! And it's an interesting history.

("Beefy lug" fit it very well !)

Thanks for the additional pic.

A lot of stuff going on with that watch! I'm not sure that would be the dial it would have come with that back, as the dial has luminous on it, yet the hands, for a 6B/159 would be simple blued steel.

Anything is possible, but I have my doubts.

Blgg's watch has a leCoultre signed VXN balance bridge movement while usually the 6b/159 comes with a Jaeger-LeCoultre signed movement.
So I would conclude it is put-together.
