Hi, I'm considering to purchase this watch produced in a numbered edition of 768 pieces (steel version 1968).

What do you think about it? Do you think it could be a good choice?
Thanks for your comments

cheers

This forum and it's members are more focused on vintage watches.
So probably not the best place to get thoughts about the re-edition.

As a die-hard collector I can't say anything positive about the re-edition.

Ilja, it's actually kind of nice! Looks just like the original...exactly, even the lousy snap back system was preserved. The only difference really is the movement being a full-rotor. I think even the plastic crystal was preserved.

Yes, I know. I followed the "hype" over at purists, and have posted some comments from my point of view.
Thing is I don't like re-editions, because this makes collecting of old 'originals' less interesting. Hunting and digging it the true fun of collecting IMHO.
And on the other hand those things have an effect on pricing for originals.
A full rotor movement with a snapback case it pure BS.
Yeah, even the plastic crystal was preserved, well it comes with a spare crystal as well. Lol.

I appreciate your frank reply and I'd like to thank you for that.
From my point this re-edition appears quite a good result beacause from one side mantains the aesthetic of the watch from the other improves the technological content by using an improved and updated caliber, of course IMHO

cheers
