I have a 1948 JLC in need of restoration.

Cal. P469A. Case number 433441.

I want to find:
(1) some case clamps and
(2) a seconds wheel for the subsidiary seconds. (The seconds wheel works and it's in the right place but it needs to be re-pivoted. I thought a new-old wheel would save this cost).

Does anyone know whether the seconds wheel from any other JLC caliber will do instead?

The watch needs a service. Who's a good person to do this? I've been quoted about US$270 for the service here in Melbourne (excluding the fabrication of case clamps and re-pivoting the seconds wheel).

The beautiful Art Deco hands need restoration. What's a good company to do dial / hand restoration?

Thanks - this is a beautiful watch and I'd love to restore it with the care that it deserves.

Jonathan

Where in Australia are you? The case clamps should be easy the second wheel may be hard.

Try: www.ftgwatch.com.au

Philp Gore proprietor. I have not used him but consensus is he does good restorations.
