This one is (for me) a true find...solid 14k...with a great case...and gold trim around the power reserve window. It is signed on the back...a gift from two sons to their father on his aniversary in 1953. Those touches don't detract from a watch for me, they add to its history.

Sad to say I was very disappointed when the watch arrived. The dial looked as if an amateur had dropped gobs of luminous on the dial, the crown fell off the stem, and the movement made the clack mentioned in another post of Futurematics, instead of the softer bump of my current Powermatic. The case was great but I felt the condition of the watch did not indicate a happy future together. The seller however has issued a refund and that is they these things should end.

Hi John,

Luminous is actually removable with a moist Q-Tip and some patience....if you take your time it comes right off without damaging the dial.

The clack however is an issue, the axis on the rotor is shot and the part is not available.

Thanks Zaf...I just sensed a long and unpleasant experience...there are many lovely vintage LeCoultre out there. By the way, the DuoPlan keeps great time...I'm very impressed. It is also gearing me up for a Reverso...but I am only interested in the original style...watch on one side, steel (or gold) metal on the other. I'm also not a fane of Deployent buckles...I prefer the old fashioned type. I'll have some new pictures soon of my Powermatic...the more I look around the happier with it I am.
