I had the misfortune to find that the alarm winding stem and crown of my trusty SS JLC K825 Memovox (case reference E855) had fallen out and disappeared while I was out walking. My watchmaker told me the stem had rusted out but he couldn't get the part. I eventually found that the split-stem for the K815 was also a replacement for the 825 and bought one on eBay (NOS). When I brought it to my watchmaker I was told he now also needs the case tube for it. The only branded watch case tubes offered on eBay seem exclusively Rolex...but some unbranded ones are available in a variety of sizes. Do I need a JLC (or LC) case tube for him to complete the repair, or will an ordinary one do? If the former, does anyone have the part number? If the latter, does anyone have the dimension(s) required? I suppose its too much to expect that an original SS alarm crown might be floating around somewhere; is there any recommended substitute? Thanks for any help. Moyvore NYC |
