Hi all

I am new to the forum. And also to vintage JLC. But, the idea of having one from the 50´s or 60´s are getting more and more in my mind.

So, hope some can help me. What model and movement is the best to go for, as a vintage start? Thinking about repair, service and the day to day use.

I love to have a memovox, but how are the vintage to repair?

All help is good to me.

Thanks for looking

It really depends. Are you wearing the watch every day? Will it ever be near moisture or is it a collector watch for occasional wear?

Hi Zaf

Sorry, forgot to give more information.
The watch will be used every day. It will not be used in water, but I do walk in the rain....under a rain coat.

Cheers

I think generally speaking, I'd go with a steel screw back watch. if you can narrow it down to what model, I can give you an opinion.

Hi Zaf

I am looking at these JLC now: a steel case, marked ACIER INOXYDABLE. It is from the 1950´s. 15 jewel manual wind, cal.P469/A with Parechoc.
The next one is: A Memovox automatic with date at 3 o´clock. It is steel, from the 1960´s. Case got ref. nr:876.
Movement is a 17 jewel automatic, cal.916.

I did not have my camera with me, but I will try and get photo´s tomorrow.

Cheers
