A. LeCoultre are almost exclusively USA marketed watches, movements were generally not LeCoultre movements, sometimes they were however. Cases are almost always USA contract cases. The factory denies its existence, so no help there.

I wonder if it was US dealers having them made without factory approval, either to keep up with demand for LeCoultres, or to create a more affordable range?

Where do the come from predominantly? Mostly found in Europe, or the US?

Maybe its just like these so called "Jacques LeMans" watches that I see around here with a strangely familiar looking JL logo. A lookalike in other words.

They're almost all USA models tailored to the US tastes of the time. They're generally pre-1930 then it stopped altogether. You almost never see them as 1940s looking watches.
