Sure! Anything helps. I just paid the balance of the printing costs :-)

They should be here in an hour. I'm excited.

I'm still not sure how to package these things for shipment! I'm experimenting with a couple of options now. The first batch should get out tomorrow.

Ha ha...nothing sent to Germany yet! A lot has gone to France already. Yours shipped yesterday.

It just appeared on Amazon.com (it's priced higher at $139 there because of their fee structure).

OK I sold one yesterday!

But over 40 books so far, so there is definitley some demand for this sort thing! Still a long way to go to recoup print costs though.

Congratulations, Zaf! I'm sure the accomplishment of your book must be highly gratifying as it most certainly will have an impact on the vintage watch community for years to come. It'll definitely impact me -- I just placed my order.

Given all the JLC transactions that occur on eBay, have you considered posting it there as a Buy It Now offering? Just a thought.

Best,
Bruce

Hi Bruce, got your order, thanks.

I will put it on eBay as soon as the pace slows down a little. Right now I'm shipping them as fast as I can! What's odd, is that most are going overseas, perhaps 75%! Weird.

I would also like to add a congratulations, Zaf. I received my book yesterday (USA) and am slowly making my way through it - very nice job!
Hopeful to see you at the York, PA (NAWCC regional show) in November.
Best regards,
Mark M.

Hi, if you have receieved an email with a tracking number, the book shipped the day of the notice. The tracking on the USPS site is very poor however, I apologize. I've followed some the packages and in some cases the tracking is non-existant. The expected arrival time for overseas is 6-10 postal days, so I'd imagine, most of the early orders (like around Sept 25) are starting to arrive. Keep in mind it's a heavy item and the post office may take time to deliver it.

Hi Zaf, I got mine (limited edition xx of 500!!) 2 days ago (Japan). I'm sure that it will be keeping me horologically happy this coming weekend!

P.S. FYI, the USPS tracking system is very poor as the item is never really updated.

Zaf,
A quick note to thank you for the book, it arrived safely in Scotland this morning. I would urge everyone on the forum not only to buy your book, but also to spread the word. This is already a classic and is destined to be a standard text for all watch lovers. Congratulations.
Regards
Paul.

Curious question, Zaf: How did you decide on the cover of your book? In other words, why not go with other watches that are emblematic of the JLC brand, such as the Reverso or Futurematic?

Thanks,
Bruce

I think the tear drop lug case of the 1940s is just as JLC as the Reverso & Futurematic. It also has more colors on the dial, so on a big cover shot like that it pops out more.
