Hi Guys -

This is a bit of a long shot as I'm not sure there is a direct JLC connection, however, since you clearly know a lot about Cartier as well, I thought I'd give it a go.

Do you know if Cartier ever made watches which were badged with a retailer's name?, or indeed if JLC ever made watches or movements for Asprey?

My wife has a ladies gold watch, badged Asprey, which looks very like a Cartier model - stepped case, spaced roman numerals and blued steel hands.

If there's any possibility of a connection, I'll post pictures. I also have a serial number if that would help.

Cheers, and thanks again.

Ralph.

I have seen Asprey badged vintage reversos, in the same way you would see "Favre Leuba" or Gubelin. Asprey is just a retailer, so yes, what you describe is possible.

Zaf -

Brilliant - great news.

The serial numbers are 727312 above 38259.

I'll post some pictures tonight.

Cheers.

Ralph.

Hi all -

First picture attached.

Again, very grateful for your views as to who might have manufactured this watch

I'm afraid you'll need to open it...could be made by a host of manufacturers.

Zaf - Thanks.

For info, I just identified the watch as Baume & Mercier Baumatic.

Many thanks, Ralph

No, looks like a ladies size ETA movement.
