I have recently bought JLC MGT from an authorized dealer. The watch was 15 secs a day fast and dealer replaced it with another one, which he claimed has been produced later. The second watch worked for a few months and simply stopped - I had to sent it back for warranty repairs. I have two questions:

1. The second "newer" watch has a smaller serial number on the back. Dealer claimed that it is normal and it still has been manufactured later. Can somebody confirm this ?

2. Is this a normal situation with JLC quality or I am an unfortunate one ?

Thanks
Alex

Hi. I think this experience is atypical. A couple of things:

- A 15 secs per day watch could have been adjusted easily, especially if the rate was consistantly 15 secs per day.

- The serial numbers should be roughly consecutive, though you never know for sure. I don't think having a "newer watch" has any bearing on its accuracy unless it is so new that the movement was subject to a design modification.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Please let us know how your service experience went.
