Hello Everyone, I have been looking for a classic vintage watch for some time now. I had a few minutes at work and was browsing e-bay when I cam across this watch. http://cgi.ebay.com/18k-Solid-Gold-Jaeger-LeCoultre-Powerwind-Automatic_W0QQitem Z130207725409QQihZ003QQcategoryZ31387QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I am a Ulysee Nardin guy and am pretty unfamiliar with Jaeger LeCoultre and was wondering if any of you could take a quick look and tell me what you think? From the research that I have done it seems to be authentic. My Questions are: 1.Does JLC produce their movements in-house? No debauch parts are used. 2. Are the marking on the watch back and the case (opposite side of the crown) genuine Markings for this era of watch. 3. Did it come from JLC and not LeCoultre. That is the watch was NOT cased and timed here in the U.S. As I understand it, the dial, movement and case have to be signed Jaeger LeCoultre and not LeCoultre. Also the movement must not say unadjusted This watch fits all those criteria so I think it is a Jaeger- LeCoultre watch. Dont want to start the whole debate over LeCoultre VS JLC. For my own curiosity does anyone know what do the stamped symbols mean? The head, the key with the number 3, or the tree? Seems like there are a lot more LeCoultre than JLCs for sale. Thanks For your help James |

Brief answers to your questions: 1. Yes, particularly for this watch. Some chronographs movements were made by other firms, but this one is all JLC. 2. Yes. 3. JLC, and you are correct. Only thing I see wrong with this one is that I believe that the dial has been repainted. But it is a pretty nice job. Hope this helps, gatorcpa |

The head is the "hevetia" symbol representing Swiss production. the key is a swiss code for the case maker. 4/10 is the caseback thickness. L tree C is a symbol for (Jaeger)-LeCoultre. |

yes - this dial was just refinished (in my view, very well) - this is noted in the auction. disclaimer - this is my listing. |
