The fit is a function of the movement and the case. The stem tap size is the same for the cal 479 and cal 450, but the tube diameter on each case will vary, so a crown from one watch may not fit the case design of another.

Dear Zaf,

You repaired my dad's watch about 2 years ago. The watch is working fine, thanks. Recently, I was talking to him about the restoration and he confirmed that the original crown was lost, being replaced by an 18kt gold one, but without the JL name. I was wondering if getting an original crown would be too difficult or too expensive. What do you think? Also, since I don't want to wear the golden bracelet with the watch, how much do you think I could get for it? I may upload pictures to you, depending on your answers. Thank you. Fernando Oliveira

Hello, I do not have access to any JLC crowns, sorry. Not sure anyone does. They are all obsolete and no one outside of the factory has them unless they're coming off of existing watches.

If the braclet is generic (not JLC) it is worth scrap, so you'd need to weigh it.

Thanks for the information. The bracelet doesn't have any JLC marks on it, so I guess it is a generic, though it was bought with the watch. It weighs about 42 grams. It is old-fashioned, but vintage. Maybe a collector could be interested in it. I will do so searches myself to see if I find a possible buyer.
