Brand new to forum. I'm sure you've heard this many times before but need guidance in finding an older Reverso. Preference would be older (pre 70's) gold/stainless reverso, leather band, solid back, in excellent condition. I don't know much about the various reverso models but would like a watch that will retain/increase in value. Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

It's a little too broad a question so I'm not sure how to answer it. Generally speaking, in vintage, the Reversos will be pre 1950. They made very few of the 1950 to 1970 (if at all).

By today's standards, they are small watches, so keep that in mind.

Thanks, the size comment is very helpful as I have another 40's era watch (rectangular shape) which although quite handsome is rather small. Were the early Reverso's jewelled movements and are the movements robust? In other words, would an early 40's Reverso be a watch that would stand up to frequent use or should it be worn sparingly?

Depends on circumstands, early Reversos are
definitely no sport watches. ;)
Also the flip mechanism is kind of fragile.
Really nice all original examples are quite
expensive, so if you are not a diehard collector
you better go with a new one.
