I have my grandfather's LeCoultre. After extensive web searching, I've not seen one like it. If anyone can say anything about this, I would appreciate it. Sorry, no picture yet, but here is a description-- --14K gold case (in fact, "14K" is the only marking on the back, marked on the top/center of the back case) --leather band --purchased in 1953. --black face with single hashes at all numeral points except for a "12" --second hand --"bumper" winding mechanism --directly under the "12" is a winding indicator gauge with numbers 10, 20, 30, 40. --directly under the gauge is printed "LeCoultre"; directly under that is printed "AUTOMATIC" I've never seen one like this with such a simple black face. A watch-collector friend could not find it in any of his references! Does anyone recognize it? |

Yes, this sounds like the LeCoultre Powermatic model. I've also seen it advertised as the "Automatic D" and "Mark 7", depending on the case design. You've described something that looks like this:
Hope this helps, gatorcpa |
