So my watchmaker tells me my wonderful Ebay purchase needs a new "anchor" (translated from German). Do you have any idea which part he might mean, and if so, what are the chances of finding this part?

In fact can you point me to anyone who would have this part?

Well thats good to know. If I can just find out what part hes talking about, then we could be in business.

Hows your German? :-)

My German is horrible. I dot understand why. I visit there 5 times a year and for some reason, it'a language I just can't seem to pick up at all.

Anyways, I 99% sure I have that part, it's called a "lever". Where are you? Contact me privately to make arrangements:

[email protected] thanks.

Great!

I will talk to my watchmaker first - just to make sure we are both talking about the same thing! I still have trouble with German, especially when it gets all technical, so you aret alone. Im in Stuttgart.

Sorry, I forgot to say. He said he wanted to replace the crown/winder too, since the seal was no longer good. I asked him not to, so as not to affect the originality. Do you have one of these too with a good seal, or is it possible to replace the seal only? I didnt want only a semi original looking part on the watch.

Zaf - I finally got my watch back today, ticking away like a champ. My guy even found a "new" NATO band for it. It looks almost like new.

Just wanted to say thank you so much for helping me out with that part! I would have been stuffed without you.

cheers and thanks again!
