This guy sells camouflage jackets, rather than watches. That's no place to buy a vintage watch. |

Actually, this is a watch that the seller was asking questions about here on this board a few days ago: http://www.classicwatch.com/discus/messages/622/19093.html?1194356231 Greg |

Herman, I don't see your point. You don't have to be a professional seller to sell on eBay. Initially that's not what this auction site has been set-up for. Your comment is dismissive. The seller seems of good faith, his watch is correct, welle presented, I don't see any reason for your comment. By the way, I think discussing of live eBay auctions is something that should be avoided generally |

well, clavi, my point is that I would feel much more comfortable buying a watch on eBay from a seller who specializes in vintage watches. There's a better chance he knows what he's selling. Obviously everybody has the right to sell stuff on eBay, professionally of unprofessionally; the question is whether it's smart to buy indiscriminately. |

My rule wrt buying on eBay: the buyer should do his due dilligence first and has to have a good knowledge of what he is buying. From there, buying from a non-professional is not an issue (and often is a good thing), providing that the seller looks serious as a seller, be him a specialist of what he is selling or not. In addition, I think we all know a few (including a famous one) professional eBay watch sellers who we would never recommend buying from although from a non-informed point of view one might trust them due to their apparent watch 'professional' status Of course I understand that others views might differ, but in the case of the auction which was the subject of this thread, I don't see what's wrong, his records look excellent |
