Hi. My father asked me to try to find out if this watch is a fake or not... The seller claims it has an original 800c caliber movement, original dial, hands an crown, but has been re-cased for whatever reason... My dad likes it just for its looks, and wonders wether he should by it for its "inner qualities" and risk beeing shot by a collector :-), or if the watch isn't worth the 280$ ...

It's a real JLC movement, dial may be refinished, but if it's a re-case it doesn't matter. |

thanks for your answer... my dad isn't looking for a money investment. so would it be ok to buy this one for 280$ if it works fine? or is it too much if the watch was refinished/recased? i have no idea how much "parts" of a watch should cost... |

Count say $125 for the dial & hands (being generous) if you think they're is at least $100-150 in gold, then, yes, if he likes it, go for it. It'll never be worth that much though. |
