What do you think - real or fake? I have no picture of the inside, so who knows what could be in there!
I would really like to get hold of a genuine JLC military watch, but the more I look, the more scared I get of being ripped off. Anyone know where I can be assured of finding the genuine article? JD |

It looks genuine to me. The dial looks like a redial done by the Brits themselves to remove the radium that was present in the original dial. The "pencil" style hands are also a correct Ministry of defence replacement. Movement should be a caliber 479. Here are pictures of one I restored a few years ago: http://www.classicwatch.com/asp/articles/anatomy.asp |

Thanks very much for the advice. Any ideas where to look if I cant get hold of this one? How often do Mark Xs come up, and what should I expect to pay? (From what I have read, Mark XIs are out of my reach). JD |

The last really nice one I had went for $1500, original dial, correct hands and just serviced. i think they're still a little undervalued. |
