Just inherited this watch as part of an estate settlement. It's a "Master Control-1000 Hours" designation on the back. Serial # is 9253. Wondering if there's significant value, and how best to sell it to someone who'd appreciate it?

Ballpark figure, find the retail of the current model that it most resembles, take 20-30% of that, that'll give you a start. |

The Master Control series started in 1992, so you don't need to go any further back than that. From the dial, it is identical to the men Master Ultra Thin. JLC hasn't produced the women version in the past few years, and I don't know when it was discontinued. BTW, used women watches don't hold their values as well as men's, quite often just 50% of men's as most women like to buy new. Just as reference, for a relatively new used men MUT with sapphire back in stainless steel with all original strap and deployant buckle, I will expect it will sell for around $2,500. The older solid back version will most likely fetch less than that. |

Oops, just re-reading my post. What I was saying was yours is a women Master Ultra Thin. I was quoting the men version only as a price reference. The serial number you quoted means nothing. There should be a reference (model) number somewhere on the back too, and you can try to search with that on the internet. However it probably will prove difficult as JLC has remapped all their numbers in the past few years. In any case, I assume yours is a women version by the strap and pin-buckle. |
