Since I've already screwed this up - why not continue? A thumbnail Moser history: The watch company of Henry Moser & Cie was founded by Johann Heinrich Moser in Le Locle, Switzerland. Production was primarily directed to Russia, where the firm found a huge commodity market. In 1868, Moser - together with American Florentine Ariosto Jones - created a new watch company that they named the International Watch Company (IWC). IWC bought modern machine tools, and together with other Swiss firms including Omega and Longines, pioneered the industrial manufacture of watches in Switzerland. The brand has been revived. http://www.h-moser.com/ |

Moser and Jaeger-LeCoultre apparently did business. From the company timeline: "Date: 1860 Moser becomes a customer of Jaeger-LeCoultre. Over time, he sources up to 64 different calibres, including 24 complications." As Jaeger-LeCoultre did not exist in 1860, it must have been with Jaeger or LeCoultre. |
