I have this 33mm s/s LC, cal. 450 with Geneva Stripes, BUT NO CASE BACK. Is there a source for case backs, or is all the work fully custom? As I am very fond of the 449/450 movements, I thought I might as well get one with a glass inset. I'd appreciate any direction. Thanks.  | ||

The case appears to me the same as a JLC s/s with 478. Not the same case as most LC s/s of the era. ... got one, by chance? <g> Actually, I wouldn't mind a glass back - so I can gaze at the 450 -- but it will toilet the collector value, I imagine. not seen a 2-tone, or an original (the 2 in Past Prices are redials) -- perhaps this is original. | ||

Thank you! -- I don't have it yet. When it arrives, I'll send you an exact measurement. If the case is the model I think it is, it's a snap back similar to the JLCs with 'POUR DEBOITER' etc. on the inside, like the photo below. Dimensions on it are 33mm to the outside, a hair under 29mm inside the snap ring.  | ||

Hello Zaf, The case back in the photo above fits perfectly - it is the same 33mm case as a JLC s/s with 478. Interesting thing about the dial and the 2 tone effect - depending on the angle of the light, the contrasting center dark shade will be either very distinct, or in moving my wrist a bit, entirely disappear. Some sort of light refraction layer in the finish? Very neat! Than you for your help. b |
