Since the gold caseworks for the LeCoultre were done in the States, and I've seen gold crowns with "LeC" instead of the "JL" logo, which probably means those crowns were also made in the US, what about gold buckles? Did the LeCoultre just use plain gold buckles? Or they also had the exact JL logo as the European JLC buckle? Thanks. |

Vintage LeCoultre buckles (U.S. market) were plain except for the name "LeCoultre" embossed on the back:
There were also versions with the LeCoultre name in cursive/script writing on the back. Greg |

To add one more thing, gold plated versions are identical except for the lack of the 18K or 14K US hallmark. These are at least as tough to find as their JLC counterparts. I was lucky enought to procure two plated ones (including a cursive example mentioned by GregB) out of a German collection a couple of years ago. Since then, nothing. Take care, gatorcpa |
