Has anyone seen this LC case before? There is no similar design in Zaf's (highly recommended) Past Prices archive. It's 30mm (nic crown) x 38mm lug to lug. Cal. 480 - movement serial number is 688904, which dates it to (I suspect) the late 40s? This one is gold filled. Very funky. With the dial condition (see photo without crystal) I'm tempted to call it the 'Volcano".

I see these models all the time. They were produced in the 1950's and were part of LeCoultre's "First Nighter" series. They were available in a men's and ladies' model in the customer's option of yellow or white gold-filled cased. The men's model had small seconds, like your watch. The men's model was named the "Top Hat" and sold originally for $71.50 in the 1950s. The ladies' model was called the "Orchid" and also sold for $71.50. Both watches originally shipped on a suede strap. Hope this helps! Greg |

And of course - right on cue - the women's model pops up:

These models were notorious for developing wearthru at every high ridge on the bezels. You'll rarely find them without brassing in several spots. Greg |
