I have a vintage Ladies bracelet watch, marked "LeCoultre" on the dial and on the case. I sent it out for service. The repair estimate from JLC Switzerland is in the thousands of dollars! It's a very cute watch, white gold, about the size of an aspirin. The bracelet is a row of small flat disks. Is this worth the high cost of the factory overhaul?

No it isn't worth it, very very few watches are, so your best bet is to try to find a local shop that can do the work...
