Hi. It doesn't look like Jaeger to me, is the movement marked Jaeger in anyway?

Hi, I posted the specifications on the thread "both checked". It has the Jaeger mark on th movement. If it was not a Jaeger which watchmaker do you think could have made such a small watch, considering it a 15 mm diameter and a 122 calibre? |

Hi Shirley, LeCoultre made a caliber 122, but it is 20.8mm in diameter and the layout is different to what you have posted. It would be not the first time we discover caliber numberes "officially" not existing... However, to get an idea of what it is, we need to see a high res. scan of the movement. Several brands produced movements in this size, but again from this scan we are not able to identify it. LeCoultre or Jaeger produced watches with other names on the dial, but usually those are high end brands like Cartier. The "HENO" brand is unknown to me... Ilja |

Hi Ilja, thanks for your information. I have found the Hena (tonight) name in the horology index but it does not have a link. It probably is welsh, meaning tonight. the case has another inscription that I am trying to figure out, thank you very much for your information. I will post another picture in the near future. It has the JL signature on the movement, i was only abrevieting it |

Hi Rose, since the watch is signed Jaeger-LeCoultre and having a "A" serial number, it more seems to be a European market watch. Probably 18k solid gold, but you need to check for hallmarks. Is your watch round or rectangular? Round Ladies watches with back winder are quite common, 3 or 4 different movemnets have been used for these. If it is rectangular, it could be a famous DuoPlan with significant higher value. Posting a scan would be helpful, you can use the upload feature. Ilja |

Hi John, we cant date watches by case serial, we need to know the movement serial. But your watch is surely 30/40s production. Value depends on condition and very important size of the watch. Operating is easy: Wind it in direction indicated by the arrow, clockwise if I remember correctly, but do it smooth. For time-setting pull crown and set as you know from "normal" watches. For further informations we need to see a scan. Ilja |
