Just found this photo from an offered Atmos at eBay. Seems to me, that the hand shaft has damage, or there is an other problem with hands. Says, that the clock was just cleaned and serviced. Is it worth to bit, or better leave my hands off?

Hi Volker, our knowledge on Atmos clocks is limited. In general I would suggest to keep your hands off, if you have a "bad" feeling. Buying off eBay is a risk, so better expect the worse. Since you are located in Germany, I can forward contact details of a watchmaker who is very skilled in Atmos clocks repair. Ilja |

Hello Ilja, I am looking for a skilled watchmaker in the Stuttgart area to get my Geomatic repaired. I have posted pictures of the watch in the thread "The Chronometer Geomatic on Ebay". I fear that a JLC factory overhaul will be very expensive. The watch needs a new crown (preferably an original one) and servicing. Do you know anyone who might be able to do the repair, even if they are not exactly close to Stuttgart? Many thanks and best regards Daniel Reich |

Hi Daniel, skilled AND reliable watchmaker are impossible to find in Germany! Honestly, I tried several and one was criminal enough to steal 30% of my sparepart inventory. When you ask whom to avoid, than Karsten Frssdorf in Dsseldorf. My current watchmaker is near Aachen, he is very slow working and you have to be tricky to get him on the phone, but his work is excellent. He serviced my personal Geomatic: http://www.classicwatch.com/discus/messages/622/1692.html?1079552986 I have a matching crown in stainless steel and a gold one in slightly bigger diameter, both JL signed. - Email me if interested.
