Hi. Does anyone know how old my Jaeger Lecoultre is? I asked at a watch shop here in Oslo, but they said it was so old they had nothing to compare it with. There are two numbers on the back, and I don't know which is the serial: 140 048 1 1 542 559 |

Sverress and Dean, Please start a new thread. Get your watch shop to open the back and write down the movement serial number, which is the only number useful for dating the watch. You might also have them snap a photo of the movement, or if they won't do that, at least write down the caliber reference number stamped onto the plate just at the edge of the balance wheel. Pictures help with identifying and dating watches, but understand that many variations were made that are not always easy to identify. Rick "case numbers are usually not helpful" Denney |
