Hello, I will acquire this watch soon. The dial has some speckles from its age. May I know if there is anyway to partially remove/clean them away (I don't like redial)? Also, the case serial is 319711 A. May I know its approximate year of making? From my research, I guess it should have P450/4C movement. I appreciate any feedback. |

IMO, it is unlikely that you will be able to clean the dial. Most of the time, the spots are caused by cracks in the lacquer finish. Over a long period of time, moisture gets inside the watch, goes through the lacquer and starts to corrode the dial metal. This is a normal and natural process and can't be reversed without totally removing the original finish off the dial and starting over. For an nice original dial like this, a redial would be tantamount to vandalism. Collectors love dials like this. Hope this helps, gatorcpa |

Absolutely, please do not touch the dial. You'd destroy the watch and its value. |

Hello Gator and Zaf, Thank you very much for the feedback. Although my sense told me that it can't be removed but was thinking of applying some rodico to gently remove part of them. But after your response, I will never touch the dial. |
