Case number 702580. I have not seen one before with "fabrique en swisse" on the dial.

Hi Gator cpa, are you sure this is a French thing? There are enough French market watches out there from that period, that do not have this extra information on the dial.

Interesting. Doesn't seems to have been uniformly applied, or perhaps French cased watches were exempt? I means there are thousands out there from 1930 and 1960 that do not have that on the dial, but would have French gold hallmarks be they Swiss or French made cases.

I think you have a point there. The question would be if the French law considered a domestically cased watch an "import" due to the movement.

That I really don't know.

Yes it does thanks. Most are much earlier than the subject example, but the narrative makes sense. The dial otherwise looks good, so consider it original then?
