Hi, I'm thinking of buying a watch described by the seller as an old LeCoultre with Blancpain movement. From the design, I suspect it should be rather old as it looks like a pocket watch strung with a bracelet. It has a yellow dial, 12 black arabic numbers, and dark blue hands. The inner caseback is marked 14k. Is it likely to be genuine? How much is it worth? Thanks. |

I have what purports to be a JLC 1940's 18k gold, 17 jewel, mechanical movement, watch. The number on the reverse of the case is 570770, with a triangular hall mark above the first 0, and about the same size. The seconds hand is a sweep; the hours are gold marks, not numbers arabic or roman; the dial is white. The crown is a bit larger than a quarter. From this, can you deduce what it is that I have? |

Mantissa, I have just returned from the Jaeger-LeCoultre factory and they confirm that A. LeCoultre/BlancPain movements ARE NOT related to LeCoultre or Jaeger-LeCoultre. So unless unusual, I'd probably stay away from those and focus on a real LeCoultre or JLC. |

Marshall: Sorry I can not. I'd need a picture and a movement serial number to date it. |
