Hey guys!

I bought this watch a few months ago just because I love it. I tried to find any information on it since i've got it, but i can only find similar watches and not the actual same watch. and reaching out to Jaeger itself has had no result what so ever.

It's a hand wound with power reserve. "jumbo" size in stainless steel.

I was told it is from the 70's, but the longer i search, the more i see similar watches from the 50's.

I'm a watch enthousiast, but not qualified to open it up and check the caliber.

I was hoping you guys could help me out with as much info as possible.

Thank you so much!

late 40s - ending 50s. For more accurate production date we need movement serial. Big size power reserves are quite rare, worth +/- 2000, really depends on condition.
Caliber 481 is a so called bumper automatic, you need to shake it back and forth, than you can feel the stopping spring's vibration.

The time period is kinda like i found out after quite a few searches. so i'm happy to hear that. The value you are speaking of is the price i paid for it. It's nice to hear that they are not so common and i haven't been ripped off.

Thank you so much for the info!

I find it a bit hard to believe you paid 2000 euros for a watch you did not have any idea what it is! If i'm not mistaken I saw that Powermatic online for sale recently.

I purchased this watch approx 6 months ago. and yes, I didn't know much about the watch. This is my first vintage watch. I really just fell in love with it.
Now, after some research and having it opened up, i know that the crown is not an original and all other parts are. The calibre is in mint condition! the watch has been serviced in 1999.

thanks for your thoughts and info!
