Here are photos of the case-back and movement. The winding crown and bezel are not original and I will want to replace those.

I would also be interested to know if Jaeger leCoultre would be able to re-build this in their service department, and a rough estimate of what they might charge. Thanks!

Do not send there it would easily exceed the value of the watch. It looks like it has been converted to a pendant? It dates to around 1953.

Thank you Zaf. This watch has enormous sentimental value to me. It was worn by my grandfather whom I am named after and has a beautiful engraving as well. I would like to repair it less expensively by finding the same model and purchasing the case, but if I can't I am prepared to pay the high cost so that I can return it to it's original form as a wristwatch and wear it.

Your best bet would be to monitor eBay for the watch and try to buy the case OR why not leave it the way he had it? You can carry it is a pocket watch.

JLC will not do a case restoration and for the movement only you're talking $2000.

Thank you Zaf. It was converted into a pendant by my grandmother after my grandfather's death. My grandfather died in 1959, and my grandmother just died last month. The watch has enormous sentimental value for me so I might just have Jaeger do it if I can't find the parts to rehabilitate it more reasonably. I am attaching a photo of the inscription as well. "To Rabbi Be[n]jamin Lapidus, Founder Jewish Home for the Aged, Our Profound Respect"

Sorry for the repetitive post. It looked like it hadn't posted. He had it as a wrist watch. My grandmother had it converted and the conversion is unfortunately of poor quality so the movement is not protected from dust etc. The watch is quite small so I don't see it working as a pocket watch. I have a small wrist so I would be comfortable wearing it as a wrist watch. Thank you very much for the information that JLC will not do a case restoration. That leaves me with e-bay and will so monitor. Hopefully I will find it.

Could this be a LeCoultre Patton. It looks like an image in an ad being offered on e-bay and labeled as such.

Not sure. That would require some deep research.
