I bought this watch a few months ago and had it cleaned and serviced. It is 18kt gold with the 484/A movement. I just ordered a brown JLC croc strap for it. Now all that's missing is a nice 16mm gold buckle. A new one from JLC is not reasonable, so what would be my best option? I've found some nice NOS generic gold-filled buckles, but real JLC vintage gold buckles seem pretty rare. Thanks, Ryan

I'm not entirely clear, that that model, would have had a signed JL buckle. Most manufacturers started signing buckles and crowns in the 1950s. |

That's good to know. Do you think a generic 14kt gold-filled buckle would be acceptable? |

In the field of straps & buckles, anything goes as the life expectancy of the original is very short...sort of like tires on a 70 year old car. |
