Somewhat rare, circa late 1930s, 8 day mainspring. Value around $1000 in good condition, you may have to deduct from that on your example given the dial & hand flaws. |

Whenever I search LeCoultre on internet, I always end up finding Jaeger-LeCoultre. I believe Jaeger-LeCoultre is founded in 1937? So my watch must be made earlier? |

8 day mainspring means it can run for 8 days on one wind. The watch is EITHER pre 1937 OR made for the American market where they kept the LeCoultre name until almost 1980. |

I managed to open it! No damage thank God! Can you tell me more now?
On the last pic there seems to be a number scratched. Upside down. |

The scratched number is most likely watchmakers markings. They do/did that when they has a watch in for repair or service - gave the job a number. If or when the same watch came in again they checked their books to see when, and what was done last time. |

Were they available only in the US? It belonged to my grandfather. I must say he was working in the Oil industry in Indonesia before World War II. Probably an American company. |

No, but the movement looks like one made for the USA market which where typically marked "unadjusted". |
