I've just acquired this watch. The plating is very worn. Is there any way to restore it. Crown missing also though the watch works well.
Would appreciate some idea of age and value. Is it worth restoring? Would a new case be easily obtainable if needed?
Thanks
Ken

A new case will be quasi impossible to source.

Are you sure this is the original case? Have you have the back off to see how it is marked?

Thanks for your quick response. I was told the watch is all original and I have no reason to doubt. The back is on very tightly, hence the marks on the back from attempts to open it. Here's a detail of the back markings

I have not had the back off so don't know what's inside.
Cheers

Doesn't help.

It would be unusual for a JLC of this period, with that dial & movement to have an electroplated top.
