A shot of the old factory building. It is no longer used as such now and houses a watch museum which covers many brands not just JLC. Pretty building though.

Ask and ye shall receive. Here is a picture of the "new" factory building with even newer annex.

Thanks for sharing the pics!! The newer annex looks a little generic?

Out of curiosity are you trying to get a tour of info in the archives?

In the newer annex piece hides a much much larger building behind it. Something maybe 8 times as large. The operation is bigger than I thought.

As far as a tour, the say there is none and there is no museum. Some very insistant people claim to have gotten a private tour, but I think you need to be doing major business with them to get that to happen.

It's like a secretive sect. They have yet to ever answer a "archive" type question for me, it is very frustrating.

I at least got a privat tour there! Perhaps its because I asked them to do so prior to my final visit or because I had several watches there for restauration... But I wouldnt call that a *major business*. :-)

My visit was 2 1/2 years ago, and they even did not try to hide anything from my eyes. I was shown the PROTOTYPE of the new XGT Reversos, saw the very first Platinum No. 1.
Watched the masterwatchmakers doing their work.
Saw parts of their production area, and saw as well where they did the engraving for IWC and AP movements.
I had the opertunety to speak with an old archivist who gave me details about the military JLCs.
Not to mention the nice leather goods I got as give-aways...

I visited the JLC factory last spring and had a private tour. The factory is surrounded by farms and cows. It is a strange location for a factory of any kind. The area is beautiful. They are lovely people and they showed me the entire watchmaking operation from start to finish. They were kind enough to give me printed information on the first Reverso ever produced, drawings, specs and all. I believe that JLC watches are the best value on the new watch market today and still undervalued in many vintage pieces. Their time will come.

Dear Sir, I possess(I consider by good fortune!) a Master-piece of JLC `ATMOS` Clock. I presume this to be of 50s vintage. It is not in working condition since the bottome balancing weight is missing. Would it be possible for me to procure a spare? I live in Bangalore, India and have access to good Horologists who can mend the Clock. Thanks,
Sreedharan.
