I have just acquired this LeCoultre Automatic Wristwatch. Can anyone tell me approximate age, style or anything?
I am taking it to a watchsmith next week. Sometimes it runs then stops. When I shake it a little it will start back up again. It looks like it needs to be cleaned. Should I have that done or will it damage the dial?
Sorry I don't have any numbers since I can't get into the watch yet but i'm hoping someone out there has some info.
The band is Speidel which is probably not original
Thanks,
John

Please post photo. There is no way to tell what you have with the information you're giving.

We can handle repairs here too. Be careful, a lot of butchers out there.

I keep trying to upload the photo but it keeps teeling me the size is too large even though I'm using 640x480.
I'll try this again.

It looks like a 1950s watch, movement is likely to be caliber P812. Try winding it 20 times before wearing it and THEN see how long it runs.

Ok I'll do that.
Thanks for the quick response. Can you tell me if there is any value to the watch? Should it be cleaned?
Thanks,
John

As it is, the watch is worth probably $250. If it were perfect, it would be worth $500-600, so it's tight wether you can properly restore something like this for under $250.
