Hi. New member, here. I have a JLC Alarm watch that needs basic service (cleaning/lube/etc). Not knowing anyone here locally (Minnesota), I've been shopping repair/restoration businesses and their fees online. It seems $400-$600 is what most JLC certified technicians are asking.

What I'm asking is, is there a less expensive (yet quality) alternative? My watch is working. And I'm not wanting to get it ready to sell... I just want to be able to safely wear it again (I bought it in 1968 when I was in Lucerne... at the age of 16). I'm afraid if it's not cared for (after so long dormant), that I may be damaging it.

Any suggestions or advice from other JLC owners?

Attached is a pic of the model I own (without the calendar function).

Hi, there is no such thing as a JLC certified technician as far as I know. $450-600 + parts is about what I charge for the mechanical work. If you are interested you can get more info here:
