What is the serial number of the movement? It does sound like a 1960s model. I couldn't tell you what it is without photo, and even then, it may not have a model name, just a case reference number.

If you are saying the movement serial is 1.9M then it's from 1968-69.

the writer describes 2 small markings stamped on the back but no mention of the letter "a" in association with the number. could this be a post-war french-made model?

If the markings are an Eagle head, then yes, it would be a French piece.

Yes, there are 2 pcs markings what looks like head of person or now, when you mentioned eagle, it cold very well be an eagle.I have to take a better look with my magnifier.Thank's for your insight . Now I'm even more curious about term "french piece" ? Is this piece perhaps not made in Swizerland ?

If the case has an eagle, then the case was used in the French market. If it only has an eagle then the case was made in France. If it has an eagle and the Swiss ladies head, then it was made in Switzerland but imported into France.

Ladies head = Swiss case, you probably also see an L C with a tree, which is the LeCoultre hallmark.
