Hi Guys! I am new to this forum, so please go easy on me! I live in England UK and have been interested in collecting pocket and wrist watches since i was a kid. I have approx 20 pocket watches in various conditions and considerably more in the way of wristwatches so you could say that i am a bit of a watchnut! Here is my question to you guys; I have a Pocket watch in a full hunter case (illinois watch case) inside which is a 17 jewelled Record movement serial 53168. The case is i think dated to around 1880 ish...can anyone else assist with the date of the movement or approx value of the piece? I'm not all that good with pocket watches, anyone care to jump in? In general, non solid gold pocket watches made by seonc or third tier Swiss brands like Record will not have a very high value. Perhaps $100. |
