Greetings. I recently inherited my grandfather's Darwil watch and I cannot find any info on it. The only success I had after many google searches are those that appear on Ebay for sale. There are very few lower-end models for sale but the one I have seems to be quite elusive. It is a 18K gold watch with a white dial and printed on the face is "Darwil" "Special Flat" "Lord 71" "17 Rubis" "T SWISS MADE T". Does anyone know anything about the Maker? If they Still exist? The value and quality of this watch? It's Age? I'm looking for any kind of info someone may have on it. The watch is in great shape, all original including the strap, and on the caseing (bottom) is stamped "1281" serial number perhaps? Any replies will be greatly appreciated. |

Marko I neglected in my last post to let you know that the watch you have is quite "classy" looking with the white dial. I have the same item in a Rhodium case'

Marko here is a pic of what would be a typical 17Rubis movement as found in Darwil

My dad has a Darwil Special Flat watch with a square face. It was bought in Macedonia in 1970. It still works and I have not seen another one like it. Omega bought out Darwil sometime in the 70s. That's all I can tell you. |
