I am trying to locate information on a BaumeMercier watch I have inherited. It is a gold woman's wristwatch about 40-50 years old (just a guess) with a rectangular diamond pave face. I haven't seen anything like it on the web. Are there any books or resources to identify the age, value, and quality of this watch? Thanks for any help... |

I could not tell you w.o a photo. Ladies watches are generally not worth a whole lot more than their gold content. |

I also inherited my late mom's quartz B-M, c.1982. Face is oval surrounded by ~40 small diamonds and has no numerals or second sweep. The crown is tipped with a sapphire. The back case reads 896848, second line reads 48234 9. The metal strap has a silvery or platinum-colored weave with clasp reading 763. As it doesn't work, I assume needs battery. What kind and any special instructions? Main problem is that bracelet needs sizing to shorter length. Given that bracelet seems to be fixed into casing on both sides, sizing seems difficult and probably expensive. Any assistance would be appreciated. |

The sizing can be done by a competent jewelry store as well as the battery replacement (no special skills required there.) |
