This watch came into the family many years ago, bought at an antique shop. The face is Borel Courvoisier but the mechanism and case is Tavannes, and appears to be art nouveau Niello silver and rose gold. Similar to http://www.rubylane.com/item/603650-4287/Antique-Art-Nouveau-Niello-Rose

I'm curious to know if it is an old case with a later face and possibly movement (two apparently unrelated companies - Tavannes and Borel Courvoisier). Approximate age and value?

No, it's certainly worthy. However, there are not too many people (if any) alive today who would know the answer to your question.

Old pocket watches can be like that.
