I would like to know how old this watch is and whether it is a military watch.
The words 'anti-magnetic' and 'incabolic' appear opn the face and I would be interested to know if anyone can enlighten me as to their meaning.
Thank you,

Hi. To answer your questions:

1. Most military watches will have issue marks on the back of the case with contract numbers, serial numbers and sometimes dates. If it has nothing on the case back, most likely it is not a military watch, but just perhaps one that has a military style.

2. Anti-Magnetic is usually just an iron ring that surrounds the movement that will reduce the effects of having a magnet near the movement which adversely effects the hairspring and the operation of the watch.

3. Incabloc is the trademark name for a type of shock resistance which if memory serves became widely used in the late 1950s/early 1960s.

Good questions!

Thank you for your reply.
Could you give me more information on the watch itself?
I am most interested in the age/date of the model I have as I can not find any further information elsewhere.
Ta,
Sharon

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with the make. Probably one of the many Swiss somewhat generic names. From what is know it is probably a 1960s watch.

Excellent info. So this was a U.S. distributor that put their own name on a Swiss watch?

I too own a Freeson Chronograph bought new in the 1960s in the UK. I am told it is very collectible but have never had it valued.

Did Freeson export?
