I'm looking for info and possible value of a Gubelin 18K Gold women's watch in good working condition. The following info is etched inside the case:
3/10 0810 642 97 8599 126
total weight is 27.2g

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I am a jeweler in Tennessee and I can tell you that if you sell this to me, I will buy if from you for $450. I can wire the money to you. Thanks.

Price for pure gold today is $43/gram. So assuming you are weighing the movement in your measurement, let's say you have 20 grams of 18k gold and the movement accounts for 7 grams.

$43 x 20 x .750 = $645 of GOLD. A watch like Gubelin was some value in of itself, maybe $100-$150 over scrap. So the watch in my opinion is worth around $700-800.

So, I would not suggest selling it for $450 as I believe it is worth more. If the jeweler from Tenessee would like to explain (even with refining costs) why it would be worth that much less than metal scrap value, I'd like to know what the rationale is.
