This was my grandpa's everyday watch. I'm sure he bought it new at Neiman's, probably in the '50s. I've had it since the early '70s, so I know it hasn't been serviced in almost 40 years, but it only runs about 5 seconds fast per day.
My question is: Who was The Lavina Watch Company? Did they make quality movements or is this considered a "generic Swiss" and I'm just lucky it still works?

Movement: 17 jewel autowinding (thump thump)
Case and back: Stainless
Case: 31mm
Height: 11mm

If I were to guess, it has a movement made by A. Schild, with the watch being assembled by Lavina and then sold by Neiman Marcus. I don't think it's worth a ton of money unless there are Neiman Marcus groupies out there that will pay a premium over what is more or less, a generic Swiss watch.

Like Neiman Marcus groupies would have anything to do with a "used" watch. ;)

Ha ha. You never know. Some old Abercrombie and Fitch dialed watches have a following.
