Can anyone shed any light on this co. Were they a maker of premium or just "run of the mill" watches? What yrs. were they in business? Can't find very much on the web.

It's a middle of the road brand (at least in vintage). It is not related to Tissot.

Can anyone tell me how to identify an antique Gruen hunter case pocket watch? We believe it is an 1896 model year.It has a serial #138777 on the movement. It has an 18k gold case. Movementis about 36.94mm in dia.which seems to make it a size 8. Would appreciate any help. Towman1096
