my relative gave me a pocketwatch which is signed on the works/movement z.j. pequignot philadelphia swiss. also on the dial it is signed z.j. pequignot there is a smaller dial on the larger dial at the bottom for the seconds also there is an ever so slight hairline crack from 2 to 330 on the dial that is not really noticeable to most who would look at this watch.
a watch book i looked at gave the condition as G6 in my unknowledgable opinion.
the watch has a fancy engraving of i think two or three letters on the front outside case it is so fancy i cant tell what the letters are and if there are two or three letters!
the watch is marked in two places on the inside covers sterling and the watch is also dated on the inside works outside case as 1903 and inside the works case is z 9/03 which to me mean that the watchmaker finished/put together this watch in sept 1903 also there are many small engravings of other watchmakers with their number codes on the inside case of the watch whom have worked on this watch throughout the years. the watch is in running condition and keeps good time!
but you can see where it has not been cleaned in many years! the watch has a number stamped on the inside case unlike everything else that is hand engraved the number is 1358679
what does this number mean?
below the number is the word "metal" below that is "swiss" and also a punched lion hallmark i think means sterling and that the watch is a swiss movement probably put together by pequignot?

can someone tell me anything about the maker of this watch?

the desirability of this watch and the demand?

anymore more information you can tell me as per the above?

whom i might contact for more information on this watch and its maker?

sincerely and respectfully michael

a special thanks to don baker!! for having this great site and letting me post on it!
