I have a Mido Ocean Star my parents gave to me as a high school graduation present in 1959. I was just told my a watch maker to whom I brough it that the threads holding the back on are beginning to be eaten away - which is why the back suddently dropped off!

Mido says they have no replacement parts.

Ideas on where I might find a replacement back or how to repair the original will be appreciated.

Tough one. You'll have to find a beat up donor watch, I don't see any other way.
